Lausanne International: Invitation to prayer

I would like to extend the invitation from The international Lausanne Movement – also to readers of this blog – to use May as a special month of prayer.

This invitation comes from Michael Oh as the new Executive Director of the Movement:

During May, we invite you to journey with The Lausanne Movement in prayer.  This journey will be a personal one, and a collective one. It will be focused on the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, his good news for all people. More specifically, we’ll look upward, inward, outward, and around.

First, we look upward. We look to the God of the Gospel, remembering all that he has accomplished for us….

Second, we look inward… We ask, “Do our lives line up with Gospel truth? What does it look like to be Gospel people?”

Third, we look outward… [and] … together lift our eyes to see a world without the Gospel, to consider it, and to pray for it.

Finally, we look around and … focus on partnerships for the sake of the Gospel.

The first week of prayer starts with an inspirational video message where Michael Oh shares engagingly on the key topic What is the Gospel?

This message is accompanied by an instructive and helpful day-by-day guide for reflection and prayer.

PS. Krish Kandiah (EA, UK) offered a critical analysis of Michael Oh’s inspirational message on his blog, with the title Lausanne shift on the gospel? and «I hope … in a spirit of grace and humility». I published (what I hope was) a gentle response as my comment on this blog post, offering four reasons for largely disagreeing with the analysis.
